What makes Joyly so… joyful?

We show older people and their loved ones how to navigate the aged care system so they can age with choice, positivity, and most importantly, stay at home.

Founded in 2020 (previously Options Plus) Joyly is built upon two core beliefs. That older people can choose to live at home and independently, for as long as it’s possible to do so – and that there’s so much joy to be found in life over 65.

But the complex aged care system often gets in the way, making it hard to maintain the wellbeing, independence, and choice of older Australians.

At Joyly, we bridge the gap between your needs (both as an older person and their loved ones) and the needs of a complicated system. By tapping into our clinical background and specialised knowledge, then adding a big dose of kindness and compassion, we turn a daunting experience into something joyful.

Because that’s what we envision – a world where ageing is full of joy, for everyone.

Joy aside, there are a few more things that make us different:

Home is where the heart is

Different to many aged care consultants, our focus is on keeping older people independent and at home, for as long as possible.

Clinical background and specialised knowledge

With a background in nursing and managing complex health conditions, like dementia, Joyly truly understands and advocates for what you need.

In-person support

In an increasingly ‘online world’, we come to your home for your assessment meetings. It’s how we truly get to know you and advocate effectively.

Hi, I’m Kym.

If you’re in the middle of a confusing aged care process, then I’m so glad you’ve found me here. I’m the founder of Joyly and a registered nurse with a specialised background in chronic illness, including dementia and Alzheimers.

But titles aside, at my core, I’m an optimistic, straight-talking, and enthusiastic people person (a necessity when working in aged care, I think). So much so, clients often tell me I have zest for life, and I’ve learnt that’s what makes Joyly, Joyly. I bring optimism and kindness to complex, life-changing decisions, helping to make your aged care journey as positive as possible.

A little bit more about off-duty Kym?

Ok then! Here are a few of the ways I fill my cup –

  • Getting creative with papercraft

  • Spending time with my three (now adult!) sons

  • Walking my two beautiful dogs – a puppy and an old soul

  • Long drives with blaring country music
